olioboard contest

I’m kind of obsessed with this website, Olioboard, where you can create mood boards using a selection of furniture and accessories. It’s like playing with paper dolls or barbies for adults with an eye for decorating. Whenever it gets slow at work, I like to pull up Olioboard and design rooms based on pieces I like. They also have contests sometimes where they ask you to design a board based on a prompt. For example, they had one once where you had to design a living space for Alice from Alice in Wonderland if she was an a 20-something in the real world. I came up with this. The image above is from a different challenge, where they asked us to design a space using 3 or more items from One Kings Lane. I used the White/Poppy Haven Rug, the Black Round Back Arm Chair, the orange Geometric Pillow, the Duck Chain Stitch Pillow in brown, and the artwork “Push” by Leigh Viner which are all from One Kings Lane in my design. The person whose board gets the most votes gets $100 to spend at One Kings Lane, and I would love to get my hands on that Geometric Pillow. If you like my board, please click here to vote for it at Olioboard, or even go make your own entry for the One Kings Lane challenge.

Time for Tea (Towels)

I love tea towels.  I use them to dry my dishes and my hands and to add a pop of color to my kitchen. Plus it’s so easy to find fun graphic tea towels like the ones below.

Kauniste Satoa Tea Towel - $24

Alphabet Dry Tea Towel - £9.95

Copenhagen Tea Towel - EUR 11.00

I’m a Sucker For…

Face Stockholm Cucumber Bubble Bath

… a nice clean label.  Not to mention cucumber! bubble bath. Doesn’t that sound luxurious?
