I’m slightly embarrassed to say that I have never purchased a font. Since the time I decided I wanted to make Graphic Design my career, I have always made do with the font library that came with my macbook and a carefully curated collection of high quality free fonts. However, as a graphic designer, I understand the importance of supporting those artists who painstakingly slave over kerning and swashes and line weight and all the other elements that go into designing a typeface. And in my opinion, no one does that better than Jessica Hische, one of my favorite designers to be jealous of, stalk, admire the work of. She is one of the most talented young designers and her work with lettering is just beautiful. These fonts are gorgeous and I can’t wait to purchase them and incorporate them into some invitation design. What do you think of these fonts? Have you ever purchased a font before? Which one/s and why?
I’ve been experimenting with the typography for the Bachelorette Invites. I found this font on Smashing Magazine’s website along with a slew of other high quality free fonts. I love how light this font feels. What’s your favorite free font? I’m a sucker for Lobster 2.0 and League Gothic. Got any good resources for high quality free fonts?
