Monday Link Love
by thepapergnome
Oh Monday, how do you always come so quickly? My weekend went past in a blink of an eye and now it’s back to work. I had such a hard time getting out of bed this morning and getting started for the day, so I apologize for the late posting. I’ve got some nice things to share with you today though, like these shadowbox paper illustrations by Helen Musselwhite. The little details like the house with little shutters that look like you could open and close them really make the piece for me.
I love being able to look at papercraft illustration and say to myself, “Wow, that’s paper.” But when it comes to paper sculptures like the one above by Calvin Nicholls, I find myself saying “Oh my God, that’s paper?!?!” Can you imagine how much time has to go into something like this? I’d like to see it in person to get a feel for how far it sticks out.
Last for today is this re-imagining of a cover of The Jungle by Upton Sinclair by Becca Charlier-Matthews. I have to say, I’ve never read this book but it’s on my list of books to read. All I know is that it has to do with meat-packing and it’s supposed to make you never want to eat meat again. Kudos to Becca for making even that subject matter look appetizing. That’s all I have for you today. I still feel like I need a kickstart to get going this week. Have you guys seen anything else worth noting recently?

Love “the Jungle” cover. Fantastic!
Love the Home Sweet Home shadow box! Thanks for sharing.
xoxo
